Desire

Desire

What do you desire the most? Money, fame, good health, a certain job or career, accumulating “stuff”, strong friendships or relationships, volunteering and helping others, a wonderful spouse or partner, a certain kind of family, taking on new adventures or love. Maybe it is a combination of things - likely so. Maybe it is something you have never spoken out loud almost ensuring that you can never get what you truly desire.

Remember when you had dreams and you expressed them freely? I wonder who you expressed them to? Did you strive for those dreams? Did you make those dreams happen? Did those dreams change in mid-stream as you grew and changed yourself?

Knowing what we desire and making the commitment to it, is more than half of the difficulty. Believing that we can get what we desire, making ourselves prepared for it and accepting nothing less forms the rest. Hey, not an easy task but if you believe that the journey to get what we desire holds as much internal satisfaction as the end result, it may motivate you to strive for the desires that hold the most importance in your life, currently.

There are times when we “think” so much that we talk ourselves out of believing what we can make possible in our lives. Have you given up on yourself and your abilities to “make” life happen in a way that strengthens your own belief in your power to make personal changes? Maybe comfort in staying “as is” suits you best. Choose wisely.
